According to this text from the Kybalion, the Universal Mind, the mind of THE ALL, can be transmuted or transformed at all times. It can change its states, degree of consciousness, conditions, pole, and vibrational frequencies.

This is the essence of Mental Alchemy. But before we talk about this Art of Mental Transmutation, let’s talk about the ancient Hermetics first.

The Hermetists are the Original Alchemists

The Hermetists were the original alchemists, astrologers, and psychologists, with Hermes as the founder of these schools of thought.

From astrology has grown modern astronomy; from alchemy has grown modern chemistry; from mystic psychology has grown the modern psychology of the schools.

But we must not assume that the Hermetists and ancient teachers were ignorant of modern schools of thought and science like chemistry, physics, astronomy, psychology, etc. In fact, they possessed advanced knowledge in these subjects and more.

Beyond physical science, they possessed knowledge of transcendental astronomy, which is astrology; transcendental chemistry which is alchemy; transcendental psychology which is mystic psychology.

Among the many secret branches of knowledge possessed by the Hermetists is Mental Transmutation, which is the topic of this lesson.

What is Mental Transmutation

“Transmutation” is usually used to change the form of metal, especially the base metal, into gold.

But the Hermetists’ view of “transmutation” is different: it is changing the mental states, forms, and conditions into others. This process is also known as MENTAL ALCHEMY.

Mental Transmutation or Mental Alchemy is the foundation of CONSCIOUS REALITY CREATION.

The first Hermetic principle states that “THE ALL is Mind; the Universe is Mental,” which means that the Underlying Reality of the Universe is Mind; and the Universe itself is Mental—that is, “existing in the Mind of THE ALL.”

Pay attention to this principle, as this is the foundation of Mental Transmutation, and the foundation of modern teachings such as the Law of Attraction, Conscious Reality Creation, and manifesting your desires.

If the Universe is Mental in its nature, then Mental Transmutation must be the art of CHANGING THE CONDITIONS OF THE UNIVERSE.

This includes changing the conditions of what we can see in our Physical Reality, the forces and Universal Laws that govern us, and our minds.

Mental Transmutation is the “Magic” of the Hermetists and ancient Alchemists described in their mystical works.

Since the Universe is mental and Mental Transmutation is the process of changing the conditions of the Universe, then you can easily navigate through this universe by mastering your mind and directing it to change from states to states, conditions to conditions, degree to degree, pole to pole, and vibrations to vibrations.

The Art of Mental Transmutation (Mental Alchemy) is Available to You

The Art of Mental Transmutation is something that each student of Mental Alchemy and Conscious Reality Creation MUST practice and perfect. It is available to YOU, as long as you are willing to study and master the principles.

Once you have perfected the Art of Mental Alchemy, you will become the MASTER controller of your life and the world around you. You will have COMPLETE control of your manifestations.

As a matter of fact, none but Master Mental Alchemists in ancient times had been able to attain the degree of power necessary to control and change their physical conditions and even the conditions of nature, such as stopping the earthquakes, typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and other natural phenomena.

The question of whether these masters still exist today is a matter of whether they exist or not. I believe they still exist, as I have experienced being in the presence of a powerful spiritual guru in one of the remote villages in Bali, Indonesia.

I visited this spiritual guru because I wanted to witness how he directed “cosmic energy” into another person that enabled that person to dance the “cosmic dance” against that person’s will. I was amazed to see that person dance freely, as if flowing with the energy of the universe. After the dance, I asked him if he danced on his own and he said he had no control of his movements. In fact, after the dance, he was too exhausted to talk to me.

When the spiritual guru opened the soul chakra in me, located around my solar plexus and connected to my heart, one flick of his finger and I was literally pushed by a powerful, invisible force that I couldn’t control. I was shocked! The spiritual guru said I shouldn’t go against the flow and inside “go with the flow”. But I couldn’t (actually, I didn’t want to look silly) and I tried to balance myself, but I eventually fell. That’s when I was convinced that mind power is very powerful.

Most of these masters of Mental Alchemy don’t live in cities but in remote villages so they can focus on honing their “psychic abilities”.

Let me be clear that these masters don’t possess special talents though: they just devoted their time learning and understanding the Art of Mental Transmutation until they became good at it at a higher level through years of consistent practice.

This opportunity to master Mental Alchemy is also available to ordinary individuals like YOU and ME.
